Making Things
I love making.
Style
My designs consist of simple graphics put together to allow you to make something spectacular by adding fabulous color and texture through the use of carefully curated fabrics, paper or fibers.
I love the use of unexpected color choices and layers upon layers of color to make my designs pop.
I believe that you can achieve awesomeness in your projects. Don't be afraid of color and of making choices that YOU like.
About Me
I have a degree in biology and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for years. Not quite the typical start for a designer, right?
I have been creative all of my life but I never learned how to sew. There were too many girls in Home Ec so I ended up in woodworking and metal class. I loved it.
I started quilting when I moved to the US from Toronto, Canada. I didn't know how to quilt but I bought a Janome sewing machine and taught myself how to sew. A little while later, I designed a BOM quilt for a local shop and shortly after that I had a booth at my first Quilt Market in Atlantic City when I was six months pregnant. What was I thinking? Or perhaps I wasn't.
The rest, as they say, is history. Many books and fabric lines later, I still continue to enjoy the art of making.
